Improving My Terminal Experience

September 20, 2019

I love using the Terminal in my Mac. My default theme is ‘Pro’ which I’ve increased the font size and the window size a bit so I can see things a little bit better. I’ve also changed the colors of the prompts and configured it so it will show the git branch I’m currently in, using the instructions I obtained from taking the Git lesson by Udacity. But I’ve finally gotten tired of how it looks like…

Today, I finally decided to give iTerm2 a try. Using the instructions I found in this blog by Clovis, I learned about Zsh and the fun Oh my Zsh framework. I didn’t completely follow the instructions in the blog, but I’m liking my new font (Source Code Pro powerline font). My shell now looks more motivating. Using Vim on it is a lot more enjoyable.
